Adverse Credit Home Loans
Look at what you buy
If you're currently looking to raise loans finance and you have adverse credit then the chances are you've already decided to use an adverse credit home loans specialist to help you out.
This all makes perfect sense. Any application you make to a non-specialist home loan company may be affected by your financial status - so it's always sensible to talk to a specialist to get the best products and the best advice. This way you are virtually guaranteed the loan you need and you'll get better rates into the bargain.
But, don't fall foul of the most common consumer trap here. All too often people will snatch at the first adverse credit home loans product they are offered. It's a common problem - especially if you've been turned down by other lenders - to simply be relieved that somebody out there will lend you money in the first place! Getting a loan isn't the issue here really - it's getting a good deal at the right cost.
Look at your deal
It doesn't matter if you do have adverse credit when you're looking to buy home loans. You should still expect to be able to find a fair loan at a fair price. We'll come on to the cost issues later - let's take a look at the deals first.
You might hate this next bit but we're going to tell you to read the small print! Yes, it is small and it is complicated and it is written in a foreign language (or seems to be!) but it's not something you can afford to ignore. It's in here that you'll find the good and bad things about your loan.
For example, you may be asked for an arrangement fee to set up your adverse credit home loans product. If the overall deal you're getting is a really great one then maybe you'll want to look at paying a fee to secure it. But, if it's not that great then why should you? You'll certainly find comparable deals out there where you won't have to pay this kind of fee.
You should also, ideally, be avoiding early redemption penalties for your adverse credit home loans deal. These are extra fees that will be charged if you decide to pay off your loan early. You'd be surprised at how many people actually do find after a year or two that they can afford to repay their loan…..only to find that the redemption fee is too large.
You might even find some nice bits in your terms and conditions if you look hard enough. Take repayment holidays, for example. A repayment holiday allows you to skip a certain number of monthly payments with the permission of your lender. Think how useful that could be come Christmas!
